The Opportunity
This multidisciplinary position supports naval maintenance, logistics, and business systems requiring cross-training across applications. The role provides technical support for afloat and ashore installations, software deployment, and training. We seek a versatile IT professional who can troubleshoot complex issues, deploy software, and train naval personnel. Regular travel to naval installations is required. The ideal candidate demonstrates technical depth and commitment to supporting naval operations.

Responsibilities

Fleet ModernizationLead application deployment rollout and cutover activities at naval installationsCoordinate with on-site personnel, program sponsors, ship personnel, and support teamsDevelop technical solutions and support process improvements while identifying risksCoach team members through daily engagementContribute to cost estimates for installation planning

Service Desk Support

Manage trouble tickets through resolution with effective customer communicationTroubleshoot complex issues across naval maintenance and logistics applicationsAnalyze system problems and determine appropriate resolution tierProvide remote technical support for afloat and shore-based systemsDocument solutions for recurring issues


System Administration

Install and maintain Windows Server operating systemsManage SQL Server and Sybase database environmentsAdminister VMware virtualization environmentsConfigure web services and Microsoft .NET FrameworkPerform database administration tasksImplement backup and disaster recovery proceduresSupport Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments


Proactive Sustainment

Test new software releases and updatesDevelop technical documentation and proceduresTrain end users during deploymentsImplement Agile methodologyCross-train across supported applications

Qualifications
Required

12+ years hands-on software maintenance experienceActive Secret clearance with ability to obtain T5 clearanceDoD 8570 IAT Level 2+ certificationMust be willing to travel up to 25% various naval installationsTechnical training in DoN maintenance, logistics, and business systems (e.g. NALCOMIS, NMCI(NGEN), SKED, NTCSS, etc.)Experience in 3+ areas: System Admin, Software Maintenance, Systems Requirements, Operational Requirements, or Test & EvaluationRecognized expert with leadership in supporting naval systemsRed Hat Enterprise Linux knowledgeAdvanced Windows operating systems knowledge (2016/2019/2022/2025, Windows 11)VMware virtualization experienceSQL Server and Sybase database administrationIIS experience.NET Framework experienceNetworking concepts knowledge (TCP/IP, ports, protocols)DoD system security requirements knowledgeBackup and security procedures experienceSecurity tools familiarity

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$75,200-$158,100
