Natural Resources Specialist

The Natural resource specialists manage, conserve, and protect natural resources (water, forests, wildlife, soil) by conducting environmental studies, ensuring regulatory compliance, and implementing habitat restoration projects. Working for government agencies or private firms, they monitor ecosystems, use GIS for mapping, and develop sustainable land-use plans.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
+ Field Data Collection & Monitoring: Surveying flora and fauna, testing soil/water quality, and mapping resources using GIS (https://www.ziprecruiter.com/career/Natural-Resources-Specialist/What-Is-How-to-Become) .
+ Conservation Planning: Developing, implementing, and monitoring habitat restoration plans, erosion control, and invasive species removal.
+ Environmental Compliance: Ensuring projects adhere to local, state, and federal environmental laws and regulations.
+ Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborating with landowners, government agencies, and the public to promote conservation and discuss land use.
+ Reporting & Analysis: Preparing reports, analyzing environmental impacts, and creating project budgets.
Required Qualifications and Skills
+ Education: A bachelor's degree in natural resource management, forestry, wildlife biology, ecology, or a related environmental field.
+ Technical Skills: Proficiency in GIS (Geographic Information Systems) mapping, data analysis software, and, in some cases, field equipment operation.
+ Knowledge: Understanding of ecological principles, environmental laws, and land management practices.
+ Soft Skills: Strong communication skills for public outreach and teamwork, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.

This is a Permanent position based out of Milwaukee, WI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $37.00/hr.
