Position Summary: The Report Analyst’s primary role is to create custom reports or modify existing reports using Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Service (SSRS), Crystal tools or Microsoft Access. This individual will also be responsible for understanding the underlying data and creating the queries used in any report development. Evaluates current reports, processes and technology, and proposes improvement projects. This position requires a strong technical and business aptitude, willingness to learn new tools/techniques, and the ability to utilize proven system design and problem solving methods to address moderate to complex issues. Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with business owners on needs and translate them into analytics/reporting requirements, improved data management and delivery. Deliver data needed in an easy to understand format that summarizes the data at a high level and contains the detailed information for targeted analysis. Provides data validation to ensure reports represent data accurately and achieve customer needs and assist business staff with developing second-level verification plans. Leverages existing report library when obtaining and documenting report design specifications. Convert MS Access and other ad hoc reports to SQL Server/SSRS reports as needed. Manages the change requests and enhancement in reporting. Assist clients, both external and internal, with requirements gathering and documentation. Write process instructions and train business staff on how to produce/run developed reports. Collaborate with team members with other functions, including DBAs, Application. Analysts, and Interface Analysts to propose data quality and efficiency projects to Supervisor. Provide backup support for other team members as assigned. Document design/build decisions in departmental standard format. Prototype/design/build technical solutions that are innovative, creative, and meet the defined system requirements. Develop/maintain solutions that comply with IT, business and industry accepted best-practices for application development, quality, and performance. Provide on-call support; investigate and resolve problems; provide timely follow up and communication to the team on the resolution measures. Required: SQL Server Agent, Basic SSIS, SSRS, SQL Server Management Studio, T-SQL, Microsoft Access (tables, queries, macros, ODBC connections), Crystal Reports.
Preferred: Relational Database Development & Oracle Familiarity with standard concepts and practices within medical laboratories and the clinical trials industry. Ability to work in a fast-paced, results-driven, and complex healthcare setting. Excellent analytical, problem resolution, organization and time management skills with the ability to multitask and balance immediate/long term priorities. Capable of embracing unexpected change in direction or priority. Excellent problem solving/data analysis skills Exceptional oral and written communication skills
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree plus 2-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area; or 5-10 years related work experience.

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
