Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY: 

 

This position has the responsibility to comply with safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce safety as a core value. Ensure that all policies, procedures, and activities related to food safety & quality are followed and complied with uniformly to reduce product and process variability.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Team player who aligns and upholds our values: Teamwork, Accountability, Innovation and Continuous Improvement and passion for customer and consumersAttendance is essential to perform dutiesAttend and actively participate in safety meetings and trainingsAlways ensure regulatory complianceRun, clean, conduct preventive maintenance, and troubleshoots extended run fillers, i.e.: Elopack Fillers/Cappers Scholle (AF/19)/ Tote Filler HambaFollows all SOPs for Production/SanitationAccurately maintains all required documentation in real timeProactively plan and lead changeover activities for fillers and date coding, and advise Supervisor of the resources (mechanics, materials), and communication neededEnsures line S-Max targets and material shrinkage targets are metMaintains active communication with ESL Pasteurizer operators to ensure an efficient operationAssume personal responsibility to ensure a safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Adhere to all safety policies/procedures and incorporate safety and health in all job duties/tasksAdhere to safe work practices, follow GMPs and HACCP guidelines, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report any conditions or practices that may adversely affect employee safety or food safety/quality to management immediatelyPerform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

 

High school diploma, general education degree (GED) or equivalent years of experience preferred2 + years of experience operating machinery, and handling GMPs and product specificationsSPC (weight control)Mechanical aptitudeBasic Computer skills necessary to operate equipment controlsAbility to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.Ability to read a limited number of two-and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.  Ability to print and speak simple sentences.Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

 

Workers are required to wear proper PPE such as hair nets, ear plugs, and certain areas require earmuffsAbility to bend, stoop and reach above shoulder levelFrequent walking and standingAbility to work indoors in wet and humid environments and stand on hard surfacesAbility to repeatedly lift up to 50 lbAbility to ascend and descend stairs The pay range for this position is $19.80 to $25.00 per hour.
