Murex Stabilization & Transformation Program Manager
Join Mizuho as a Murex Stabilization & Transformation Program Manager! In this role you will serve as the central point for the Murex Stability & Transformation Program, driving both short-term stability gains and structural transformation across the platform. The program integrates cross-functional expertise — application, infrastructure, data, and vendor — under a single governance and measurement framework. The Stabilization phase delivers tactical remediation of chronic issues; the Transformation phase ensures that those tactical fixes evolve into sustainable architectural change. Key Responsibilities 1. Program Ownership & Leadership + Serve as the end-to-end owner of the Murex Stabilization & Transformation Program, driving both tactical remediation and long-term modernization under a unified governance model and measurement framework. + Maintain and continuously refine the Stabilization Backlog and Transformation Roadmap, ensuring alignment with business priorities and technology strategy. + Lead cross-functional program execution across Application, Infrastructure, Architecture, Data, Delivery Assurance, and Vendor teams. 2. Incident Remediation & Root-Cause Management + Run Tiger Teams for critical issues, ensuring deep root-cause analysis, high-quality remediation, and timely closure of chronic incidents. + Convert production incidents, job failures, performance degradations, and recurring operational pain points into structured engineering workstreams. + Define required improvements in monitoring, alerting, and observability, ensuring early detection and faster recovery. 3. Transformation Delivery & Architectural Uplift + Drive initiatives spanning instance architecture & configuration, workflow modernization, batch optimization, data lifecycle management (retention & archiving), data architecture, external integration, operational control & efficiency, CI/CD automation, database migration, and infrastructure redesign. + Partner with Architecture and Infrastructure to validate design patterns, target-state blueprints, and technical dependencies across the Murex ecosystem. + Ensure every fix or redesign contributes to stability, resilience, performance, and scalability. 4. Governance, Controls & Delivery Assurance + Oversee adherence to change governance, ensuring all remediation and transformation work follows strict testing, validation, and release procedures. + Work closely with Delivery Assurance to ensure production readiness, rollback strategies, and environment consistency. + Strengthen discipline around RCA quality, process compliance, and operational controls. 5. Cross-Team Coordination & Stakeholder Alignment + Coordinate daily/weekly collaboration across Production Support, COE Delivery, Infrastructure, Governance, and Architecture. + Align with the Project, Reporting & Operations (PRO) Office for weekly program updates, KPI tracking, and inclusion in executive-level dashboards. + Communicate progress, risks, and dependencies clearly and proactively to senior leadership and business stakeholders. 6. Vendor & External Partner Engagement + Act as the primary interface with Murex (vendor) for deep engineering sessions, performance investigations, enhancement requests, and roadmap alignment. + Manage external delivery partners embedded in stabilization and transformation workstreams, ensuring quality, accountability, and knowledge transfer. + Govern partner contributions through structured work packages, metrics, and SLA expectations. 7. Measurement, Reporting & Transparency + Define and track stability KPIs: incident reduction, MTTR, batch runtimes, job success rates, and performance trends. + Produce weekly stability dashboards, monthly transformation updates, quarterly architecture reviews, and executive reports. + Ensure decision-makers have accurate, factual, timely visibility into the platform's health and program progress. Key Skills & Experience Proven Program Leadership: + 10+ years of experience in technology program management within capital markets. + Demonstrated success in leading large-scale stabilization and/or transformation programs within complex, multi-stakeholder environments — ideally across trading or risk platforms. Hands-On Execution Style: + A leader who is not just directional but actively engaged — able to dive into details, challenge assumptions, and work side-by-side with application, engineering, infrastructure, and vendor teams to drive resolution. End-to-End Derivatives Expertise: + Deep understanding of front-to-back derivatives trade flows, including pricing, booking, lifecycle management, risk, P&L, and post-trade operations — ensuring that technical fixes preserve business integrity. Exceptional Leadership & Communication: + Inspires confidence and clarity across technical and non-technical audiences; capable of influencing senior business sponsors, IT heads, and vendor partners while maintaining delivery focus and accountability. Vendor and Partner Management: + Experience managing external vendors (including Murex or equivalent) as integrated program partners, balancing speed and control while ensuring clear deliverables, documentation, and knowledge transfer. Financial Services Background: + Experience within a leading bank, asset manager, or trading institution, ideally with exposure to front-office technology, risk, and operations ecosystems. Platform Experience: + Prior hands-on involvement with a derivatives trading platform (e.g., Murex, Calypso, Summit, or equivalent), with appreciation of system architecture, configuration, and integration complexity. Success Measures + Significant reduction in high-severity incidents. + Improved batch performance and system resilience. + Delivery of modernized, scalable architectural components. + Strong governance, documentation, and transparency across all workstreams. + Business and senior management confidence that the Murex platform is reliable, high performant, and can adapt and scale in support of future business growth. + A cultural shift toward proactive engineering and sustainable platform management. The expected base salary ranges from $200k-$300k.
