Collegiate Sports Western Illinois University, a member of The Ohio Valley Conference and sponsor of 18 Division I sports, is seeking applicants for the 2026-27 academic year in the following areas:

Graduate Assistant for Student-Athlete Success & Support (2 Positions)

The position Graduate Assistant for Student-Athlete Success & Support is responsible for directly assisting the Director of Student-Athlete Success and Support with the monitoring and evaluation of the academic performance of all student-athletes at Western Illinois University. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to; successfully mentor academically at-risk athletes, monitor and evaluate academic eligibility and satisfactory progress of student-athletes, supervise study hall hours, help with setting up tutoring appointments and other duties as assigned including help at home sporting events. This position requires the ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.

Graduate assistant positions include a monthly stipend plus tuition (employment is contingent upon proof of admission to the Graduate School). Graduate Assistant for Athletic Communications 

The position of Graduate Assistant for Athletic Communications is responsible for directly assisting the Athletic Director for Communications with the promotion/publicity of all Western Illinois University student-athletes and coaches. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to; planning and implementing communications strategies for assigned sports, in-game activities with statistics, updating stats for website publishing, social media management, writing press releases, updating game notes, game programs, updating the department website, submitting honors for conference and national recognition, and other duties as assigned. This position requires the ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.

Graduate assistant positions include a monthly stipend plus tuition (employment is contingent upon proof of admission to the Graduate School). Graduate Assistant for Compliance (2 Positions)

The position of Graduate Assistant for Compliance is responsible for directly assisting the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance with all aspects of administrative oversight, education, and monitoring of coaches, staff, and student-athletes as it pertains to NCAA rules and compliance. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to; monitor recruiting and practice logs; assist in oversight of student-athlete initial eligibility certification; perform data entry into NCAA and WIU databases; maintain organization and filing of NCAA, conference, and institutional documents; design, produce, and distribute rules education initiatives as needed; assist at home athletics events, and other duties as assigned. This position requires the ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.

Graduate Assistant for External Relations 

The position of Graduate Assistant for External Relations will work closely with the Associate Athletic Director for Development and assist with development operations with responsibilities including writing and designing development plans, improving donor engagement, hosting donor events, and other duties as assigned. The External Relations GA will also work closely with the Director of Ticketing and Events to create and implement a comprehensive ticket plan, manage season ticket accounts, handle single-game sales and ticket window(s), and other duties as assigned. This position includes various game day duties and requires the ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends. This position requires the ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

Experience with donor and ticketing software is a plus. Candidate must possess strong communication, interpersonal and creativity skills. Successful candidates must be willing and available to work some evenings and weekends. Previous experience in a collegiate or professional Development or Ticketing office preferred. Experience supervising student employees is also preferred.

Graduate Assistant for Facilities, Events, and Game Operations

The position of Graduate Assistant for Facilities, Events, and Game Operations is responsible for directly assisting the Assistant Athletic Director for Equipment, Facilities, and Operations with the management of game day and athletics facilities operations. Duties include, but are not limited to; contacting and organizing game day staff, hosting visiting teams and officials, assisting in set-up and tear down of events, assisting with athletics facility scheduling, planning, maintenance and other duties as assigned. This position requires the ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and work flexible hours.
