Description

•\tSetup, Start-Up, Adjust and Operation of Equipment; Proper Shutdown, & Changeover as required to Hormel standards and to minimize downtime

•\tManage all supplies associated with the lines following up on excessive loss whether vendor or mechanically driven. Ensure supplies are accounted for and returned in a timely manner

•\tTroubleshoot basic electrical equipment, maintain and improve electrical control systems, and complete work orders to prevent electrical breakdowns within the department

•\tTroubleshoot basic mechanical equipment, maintain and improve mechanical systems, and complete work orders to prevent mechanical breakdowns within the department.

•\tPerform line change over as required by production schedule.

•\tLead in establishing predictive maintenance initiatives for focused department.

•\tLead in enhancement of existing equipment to improve line effectiveness.

•\tLead efforts to develop/enhance PM’s and troubleshooting guides as assigned by supervisor for focused department.

•\tCoordinate with mechanics, other technicians and line personnel across shifts maintenance efforts on assigned equipment.

•\tUtilize the EAM system to document activities and to enter time daily.

•\tAssist in development of spare parts requirements and min/max levels.

•\tDevelop and maintain a good working relationship with engineering and maintenance, supervisor, TLs and line operators on all shifts.

•\tAssist supervision in the identification of operator skill gaps and provide possible solutions.

•\tSupport plant high performance culture and continuous improvement programs through active participation in QCDSM and plant productivity programs.

•\tComply and actively participate in all safety and environmental policies, procedures and programs. May serve on KSRMP team.

•\tComply with all QCMS program requirements including HACCP and GMPs.

•\tPerform area housekeeping duties.

•\tPerform all tasks as assigned by supervisor.

•\tRecommend and implement continuous improvement on equipment and system design through use of the team concept. Support project planning and execution

•\tCommunicate with other line technicians on other shifts, as necessary, to ensure coordination of all maintenance efforts on assigned equipment and effectively operate as part of a team

•\tSupport implementation of department SQCDM ideas/suggestions

•\tMaintain a good working relationship with all equipment operators on all shifts

•\tConduct training for other associates in area of responsibility

•\tManage spare parts and standby equipment for assigned equipment

•\tConform to Hormel’s policy and procedures including, but not limited to: Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), Lock Out/Tag Out, HACCP check points, Hormel Quality Standards, Fall Protection, Hot Work, OSHA Regulations, and all others

•\tReport and correct unsafe acts and conditions

•\tDetermine product sequencing to minimize changeover time

•\tPerform sanitation and reassembly so that it meets Hormel Standards and also minimizes downtime

•\tMust be Powered Industrial Truck licensed and follow all safety rules and procedures

•\tMust be willing to travel as required

•\tAll other duties as assigned in order to support efficient plant operations

•\tBackground in industrial, mechanical, electrical, computer systems

•\tMust have knowledge of and capable of performing special technical skills with electrical a must(e.g. basic electrical troubleshooting, VFD drives, pneumatic troubleshooting, basic PLC understanding, mechanical troubleshooting, machining, welding tasks, gas trane).

•\tMust have the ability to communicate technical information so as to improve the skills of the plant technicians.

•\tMust have a working knowledge of electrical installation and construction.

•\tHigh School Diploma or GED

•\tMinimum of three years of experience in industrial maintenance
