Multi Craft Maintenance Technician
**Description** • Setup, Start-Up, Adjust and Operation of Equipment; Proper Shutdown, & Changeover as required to Hormel standards and to minimize downtime • Manage all supplies associated with the lines following up on excessive loss whether vendor or mechanically driven. Ensure supplies are accounted for and returned in a timely manner • Troubleshoot basic electrical equipment, maintain and improve electrical control systems, and complete work orders to prevent electrical breakdowns within the department • Troubleshoot basic mechanical equipment, maintain and improve mechanical systems, and complete work orders to prevent mechanical breakdowns within the department. • Perform line change over as required by production schedule. • Lead in establishing predictive maintenance initiatives for focused department. • Lead in enhancement of existing equipment to improve line effectiveness. • Lead efforts to develop/enhance PM’s and troubleshooting guides as assigned by supervisor for focused department. • Coordinate with mechanics, other technicians and line personnel across shifts maintenance efforts on assigned equipment. • Utilize the EAM system to document activities and to enter time daily. • Assist in development of spare parts requirements and min/max levels. • Develop and maintain a good working relationship with engineering and maintenance, supervisor, TLs and line operators on all shifts. • Assist supervision in the identification of operator skill gaps and provide possible solutions. • Support plant high performance culture and continuous improvement programs through active participation in QCDSM and plant productivity programs. • Comply and actively participate in all safety and environmental policies, procedures and programs. May serve on KSRMP team. • Comply with all QCMS program requirements including HACCP and GMPs. • Perform area housekeeping duties. • Perform all tasks as assigned by supervisor. • Recommend and implement continuous improvement on equipment and system design through use of the team concept. Support project planning and execution • Communicate with other line technicians on other shifts, as necessary, to ensure coordination of all maintenance efforts on assigned equipment and effectively operate as part of a team • Support implementation of department SQCDM ideas/suggestions • Maintain a good working relationship with all equipment operators on all shifts • Conduct training for other associates in area of responsibility • Manage spare parts and standby equipment for assigned equipment • Conform to Hormel’s policy and procedures including, but not limited to: Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), Lock Out/Tag Out, HACCP check points, Hormel Quality Standards, Fall Protection, Hot Work, OSHA Regulations, and all others • Report and correct unsafe acts and conditions • Determine product sequencing to minimize changeover time • Perform sanitation and reassembly so that it meets Hormel Standards and also minimizes downtime **Skills** Electrical, Mechanical, Troubleshooting, Plc troubleshooting, fda **Top Skills Details** Electrical,Mechanical,Troubleshooting **Additional Skills & Qualifications** • Must be able to maintain and operate all equipment in assigned area • Demonstrate successful application of problem-solving techniques, effective communication and planning • Must be Powered Industrial Truck licensed and follow all safety rules and procedures • Must be willing to travel as required • All other duties as assigned in order to support efficient plant operations • Background in industrial, mechanical, electrical, computer systems • Must have knowledge of and capable of performing special technical skills with electrical a must(e.g. basic electrical troubleshooting, VFD drives, pneumatic troubleshooting, basic PLC understanding, mechanical troubleshooting, machining, welding tasks, gas trane). • Must have the ability to communicate technical information so as to improve the skills of the plant technicians. • Must have a working knowledge of electrical installation and construction. • High School Diploma or GED • Minimum of three years of experience in industrial maintenance **Experience Level** Intermidiate Level **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $85000.00/yr. · Medical, Prescription, Dental, Vision Health Plans · Short-Term Disability · Long-Term Disability · 401k (50% on the first 2%) · Employee Stock Purchase Plan · Paid Time Off · Life Insurance **Workplace Type** This is a fully onsite position in Suffolk,VA. **Application Deadline** This position is anticipated to close on Oct 3, 2025. **About Aerotek:** We know that finding work is hard, and finding meaningful work is harder.
