CVP is seeking a Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist to provide comprehensive MRI imaging services for our Nation's Veterans at the VA Portland Health Care System at the Vancouver Campus. You'll utilize advanced MRI technology to provide critical diagnostic imaging services that support quality healthcare delivery for Veterans.
As an MRI Technologist, you will perform complex MRI examinations using state-of-the-art imaging technology. You'll work independently while collaborating with radiologists and healthcare teams to provide high-quality diagnostic images that support Veterans' medical care and treatment planning.
Responsibilities Perform complex MRI examinations using advanced imaging protocols and safety procedures specific to magnetic resonance technology for imaging of the head, neck, spine, abdomen, chest, and upper and lower extremitiesSet up MRI rooms ensuring sterile supplies, materials, and required equipment are properly arranged while maintaining strict MRI safety protocolsOperate MRI equipment using appropriate technical parameters and established protocols with thorough understanding of MRI safety requirementsScreen patients for MRI safety contraindications, verify identity, explain procedures, and ensure patient safety throughout examinationsArchive and document procedures with proper image annotation, evaluation, and quality assessment for optimal diagnostic interpretationMaintain accurate documentation in Electronic Health Records Qualifications Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible to obtain a Public Trust government security clearanceCompletion of full-time training program in Diagnostic Radiologic Technology from JRCERT-accredited programCurrent certification by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Magnetic Resonance Imaging as Diagnostic Radiologic TechnologistCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (renewed every 2 years)Minimum two (2) years of experience in the operation of diagnostic radiology equipment under the direction of a Radiologist or other medical officer to produce radiographic studies/images used in medical diagnosis and treatmentMust have worked within a hospital lab setting as an MRI Tech in the last six (6) monthsComprehensive knowledge of MRI safety protocols and contraindicationsUnderstanding of magnetic resonance physics and imaging principlesKnowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and medical terminologyStrong patient care and communication skills with ability to work with claustrophobic patientsAbility to perform physically demanding tasks, such as lifting 100 pounds and carrying 44 poundsShifts:
Rotating shifts including weekends, holidays, overtime and on-callEight (8) hour shifts are five (5) days per week with 30 minutes for mealsNine (9) hour shifts are rotating four (4) day and five (5) day weeks with 30 minutes for mealsTen (10) hour shifts are four (4) day weeksPay: $50-55/hr
