The Reliability & Monitoring Engineer is responsible for fleet-level monitoring, incident analysis, and reliability insights for utility-scale solar tracker systems. This role operates within a specialized team, providing real-time system visibility, post-event analysis, and data-driven support to ensure fast recovery, especially after severe weather events. The position involves translating monitoring data into actionable insights to enhance system uptime, resolve customer solar project issues, and improve long-term asset reliability. This is a desk-based position with a strong focus on analytical and operational tasks.
ResponsibilitiesMonitor utility-scale solar tracker systems to identify abnormal behavior, offline assets, and communication issues, supporting remote operational actions such as tracker stow and recovery during severe weather events.Perform root cause analysis for alarms, outages, and weather-related events by correlating system data, logs, and environmental conditions, producing clear incident summaries and supporting warranty-aligned documentation.Provide monitoring-based technical insights to support customer issues, translating complex system behavior into clear, actionable information while maintaining high-quality incident records and timelines.Identify recurring issues and reliability risks across the fleet, contributing recommendations to improve monitoring thresholds, alerting logic, response workflows, and operational tools.Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Operations teams to share insights, improve system reliability, and contribute to standard operating procedures, monitoring playbooks, and training materials.Essential SkillsExperience with monitoring tools, root cause analysis software, reliability analysis software, outage management, and document management.Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.2-5 years of experience in remote monitoring, reliability analysis, operations centers, or technical support roles.Experience performing root cause analysis using operational or monitoring data.Familiarity with weather-driven operational risk and post-event analysis.Additional Skills & QualificationsWorking knowledge of utility-scale solar systems and tracker operation.Experience with web-based monitoring platforms or fleet analytics tools.Experience understanding dashboards, performance reports, or technical summaries.Exposure to reliability engineering concepts, anomaly detection, or performance analytics.Work EnvironmentThis role is office-based with variable shifts. Morning shifts run from 7 AM to 3 PM, and night shifts from 3 PM to 11 PM. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $33.00 - $45.67/hr.
