\t\t\t\t\tThe job requires interpretation of basic cardiac rhythms and common dysrhythmias, monitoring of mechanical malfunctions as well as general clerical duties on nursing unit. Facilitates communication, transcription of physician orders, expedites interdepartmental services and keeps records.PERFORMS OTHER RELATED TASKS AS NEEDED: Nurses station is kept neat and tidy; Charts are clean and thinned. Desk area is free of clutter. Wastebaskets are empty at end of shift; Assists with orientation of new ward clerk/monitor tech.OBSERVATION OF TELEMETRY MONITOR, CATCHING AND POSTING ECTOPY, RUNNING STRIPS, MEASURING INTERVALS, COMMUNICATING CHANGES AND PERFORMING BASIC MAINTENANCE: Monitor telemetry rhythms unless relieved, catching and posting ectopy; Changes in rhythm of monitored patients are noted immediately and documented; Notify nurse immediately of changes noted; Run rhythm strips on all monitored patients per unit protocol; Measure intervals on rhythm strips per unit protocol; Changes graph paper in monitor unit; Paper is installed and ready for write out when neededSTOCKS TELEMETRY SUPPLIES, PERFORMS BASIC MAINTENANCE ON TELEMETRY UNIT AND STATION, AND KEEPS PAPER DOCUMENTS CURRENT: Stocks and restocks supplies for telemetry station. Dust and wash monitors and area as needed. Work area kept clean; Cleans and stores telemetry units from discharged patients; Prepares telemetry monitor for new patients correctly, labeling each patient window with assigned patient's name and room number; Prepares telemetry unit for admitted patients. Checks and replaces batteries as needed; Performs Defi b and Crash cart checks and other carts as needed in each station assigned per shift Records the cart check.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
