The Mold Technician is responsible for ensuring all molds are maintained, ready for production, and aligned with OEE goals. Proper tooling maintenance minimizes downtime and protects customer delivery commitments. Strong attention to detail and adherence to schedules are essential.
ResponsibilitiesManage and execute PM programs for all molds using established A/B/C processes.Use MaintMaster or similar software to track, schedule, and document PM work.Coordinate with the Process Engineer and Operations Manager to ensure weekly mold cleanings are completed and reliable.Organize and maintain the mold spare parts room and ensure adequate inventory of standard components.Order mold-related spare parts and obtain necessary approvals.Install and repair molds based on production needs.Perform root cause analysis and document findings for mold, machine, or robot issues.Support maintenance activities on production machines as needed.Conduct emergency repairs and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues.Read and interpret technical manuals.Collaborate with process engineering to troubleshoot and adjust molding processes for quality output.Identify improvement opportunities across manpower, machines, methods, and materials.Participate in meetings and maintain required equipment certifications (forklifts, lifts, etc.).Assist in managing spare parts inventory (IMM, robots, etc.).Essential SkillsExperience with molding machines, mold maintenance, mold setting, mold change, and mold repair.Knowledge of hydraulics, troubleshooting, pneumatics, and mechanical aptitude.Plastic Injection Molding Experience.Mechanical aptitude in preventative maintenance, injection molding machine, injection mold, mold tooling.Additional Skills & Qualifications4+ years of experience working with injection molds.Strong leadership, decision-making, time management, and critical thinking skills.Working knowledge of robotics and MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel; Office 365 preferred).High school diploma required; technical coursework or associate degree preferred.Strong communication, math, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic skills.Why Work Here?Enjoy working in a new facility with opportunities for career advancement and great company benefits for full-time employees.
