Northrop Grumman is currently seeking Modeling & Simulation Systems Engineer 5 with extensive mathematical and domain knowledge relevant to modeling missile systems.

This position will be located at out Northridge, CA. location.

Responsibilities:

Using the simulation to assist in verifying missile system specifications, including designing scenarios for this purpose and running the simulation. At times this may include directing such activities of the other engineers.

Live fire support via simulation, possibly including root cause analysis investigations

Assisting with updates to the relevant environment models and sensor models.

Troubleshooting all aspects of a 6DOF, including actual missile system algorithms exercised in the 6DOF.

Mentoring more junior level engineers in relevant fields

Collaborate with research scientists and systems engineers to perform system architecture characterization studies on various system components.

Design, develop, and implement testing methods for individual pieces of equipment (both custom and COTS) and entire systems.

Compile data and help to define changes required in testing methodology, equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, and new testing requirements.

Basic Qualifications for Staff Modeling and Simulation Systems Engineer (Level 5)

BS degree in aerospace engineering, physics, software engineering, systems engineering, or a related field is required with 12 years of experience or an MS degree in areas above with 10 years of experience is required.

Experience specific to weapons system modeling, such as experience with sensor models, relevant environment models, and GNC.

Experience in using 6DOF simulations for analyzing weapon system performance, including scenario creation and maintenance

Experience developing mathematical models

Strong background in C++

Strong background in MATLAB or Python

Current US Government Secret security clearance, adjudicated within the past 5 years, and ability to be cleared for SAP.

Preferred Qualifications for Staff Modeling and Simulation Systems Engineer (Level 5)

Experience with Anaconda or related tool sets.

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel

Experience with Atlassian tool suite or equivalent

Experience in high performance computing or monte carlo simulations.

Experience with embedded software development

Experience in technical or team leadership

Experience with EVMS

Primary Level Salary Range: $171,000.00 - $256,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
