Mobile HVAC Installation Technician
Job Description The HVAC Installation Technician leads commercial HVAC installation work, ensuring high‑quality craftsmanship, accurate layout, and proper coordination with foremen, subcontractors, and junior staff. The role focuses on preparing materials, interpreting plans, preventing delays through proactive planning, maintaining clearances and code compliance, monitoring costs, completing required documentation, and keeping company equipment in professional condition while communicating any additional work needs. This position will include travel throughout the DMV in a company issued vehicle. Skills and Requirements Key Requirements - Minimum 5 years of HVAC trade experience - High School Diploma/GED; advanced HVAC technical training preferred - CFC Certification, HVAC Journeyman license, NATE certifications, and OSHA‑10 (or ability to obtain promptly) - Valid driver’s license in good standing - Ability to lift 75 lbs, stand for long periods, and operate hand/power tools - Flexibility for night and weekend work Core Responsibilities - Install commercial HVAC equipment, including replacements, remodels, and small‑scope new work - Working on chillers, boilers, and rooftop units - Running conduit - Work on multiple jobs and commercial sites (e.g., libraries, tenant spaces) - Layout and prepare tools, materials, and work areas - Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and installation manuals - Coordinate daily work with the foreman, subcontractors, and internal crews - Assemble material lists and support vendor pricing requests - Review plans to fully understand project scope and requirements - Ensure work fits within available space and maintains proper service clearances - Plan ahead to avoid delays and unscheduled work stoppages - Call for inspections and review work with inspectors when required - Come from a commercial background
