How You'll Make an Impact:
Write automated UI test scripts from scratch for Android applications using Espresso, translating manual test cases and requirements into robust automated tests.
Write automated UI test scripts for iOS applications using XCUITest and SwiftUI (or ramp up quickly to do so).
Maintain and enhance existing test suites on an ongoing basis as application features evolve, including debugging and fixing flaky tests.
Execute test suites daily for both Android and iOS, monitor results, triage failures, and ensure test stability and reliability.
Design, develop, and scale automated UI test frameworks for both platforms in alignment with project requirements and company standards.
Work closely with Android and iOS engineers to identify test cases suitable for automation and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
Participate in code reviews for test scripts and contribute to continuous improvement of testing standards.
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and troubleshoot pipeline issues.
Analyze test results, report defects, and ensure issues are reproducible and well-documented.
Set up and maintain device test environments including emulators and simulators for both Android and iOS.
Collaborate with QA, Product, and Engineering to define quality metrics and release readiness gates.
3+ years of professional experience writing, maintaining, and executing Android UI test automation using Espresso in production environments.
Proven track record of writing Espresso test scripts from scratch, not just running or modifying existing tests.
Deep hands-on experience with core Espresso components including ViewMatchers, ViewActions, ViewAssertions, IdlingResource for asynchronous operations, and custom matchers/actions.
Strong understanding of the Android ecosystem, Android Studio, ADB, Gradle, and Kotlin/Java.
Demonstrated experience building and maintaining automation frameworks that scale with application growth.
Experience debugging and resolving flaky tests and ensuring test suite stability.
Experience writing clean, maintainable, and modular test code with proper design patterns.
Hands-on experience with CI/CD tooling, build pipelines, and automated test orchestration (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
Experience testing APIs, using tools like Postman or similar.
Solid understanding of mobile QA methodologies, test design techniques, and defect lifecycle.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as the primary automation engineer for the team.
HIGHLY DESIRED (but not required if you have strong Android skills and can learn quickly):
Hands-on experience writing and maintaining iOS UI tests using XCUITest for SwiftUI applications in production environments.
Proven track record of writing XCUITest scripts from scratch and maintaining them as the iOS app evolves.
Familiarity with Xcode, Swift, and the iOS development ecosystem.
If you don't have iOS experience yet: You must be a fast learner with strong technical aptitude and willingness to take ownership of
iOS test automation within the first few months on the job.
