Millwright Contract Position (4-5 Months)

**📝 Job Overview**
We are currently hiring experienced **Industrial Millwrights** to support a critical outage project at a high-throughput industrial facility. This role demands precision, efficiency, and a strong understanding of mechanical systems to ensure timely execution of equipment installation, maintenance, and repair during a scheduled shutdown.
**🔧 Key Responsibilities**
+ Install, dismantle, and relocate heavy industrial machinery and mechanical systems with precision and safety.
+ Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on rotating and stationary equipment (e.g., pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, turbines).
+ Conduct shaft and coupling alignments using dial indicators, laser alignment tools, and other precision instruments.
+ Execute rigging operations including hoisting, lifting, and securing of components using cranes, chain falls, and slings.
+ Read and interpret complex mechanical blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
+ Troubleshoot mechanical failures and perform root cause analysis to minimize downtime.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams including welders, electricians, and engineers to meet project timelines.
**✅ Required Qualifications**
+ Minimum **3 years of hands-on Millwright experience** in industrial, manufacturing, or power generation environments.
+ Demonstrated success supporting **outage or shutdown projects** with tight deadlines and high safety standards.
+ Proficient in reading mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and equipment manuals.
+ Skilled in **precision alignment** , rigging, mechanical troubleshooting, and equipment rebuilds.
+ Familiarity with OSHA safety protocols and lockout/tagout procedures.
**➕ Preferred Skills & Certifications**
+ Working knowledge of **hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, and fabrication** .
+ Experience with **conduit installation** , structural supports, and mechanical anchoring.
+ NCCER Millwright Certification or equivalent trade credentials.
+ Forklift, aerial lift, or rigging certifications are a plus.
**🏗️ Work Environment**
+ Onsite work at a heavy industrial facility in **Petersburg, VA** .
+ Must be available to work **6 to 7 days per week** , including extended shifts as required.
+ PPE and safety training provided; adherence to strict safety protocols is mandatory.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
