Job Title: Millwright

Job Description

As a Millwright, you will be responsible for troubleshooting motors, transmissions, and conveyors to develop effective repair strategies. You will operate basic precision manual machine tools such as Vertical Milling Machine, Engine Lathe, Hydraulic Press, and Key Broach. Additionally, you will utilize hoisting and lifting devices like cranes, jacks, and tractors to position machinery and parts during installation, setup, and repair. Your expertise will also be employed in the disassembly, repair, and reassembly of industrial components, as well as installing and replacing various types of bearings, bushings, and slides. You will also be responsible for pump repairs and rebuilds with precision alignments and inspecting machinery for irregularities.

ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot motors, transmissions, and conveyors to devise effective repair strategies.Operate precision manual machine tools, including Vertical Milling Machine and Engine Lathe.Use hoisting and lifting devices to position machinery and parts during installation and repair.Utilize precision measuring tools for accurate repairs and installations.Disassemble, repair, and reassemble industrial components.Install and replace bearings, bushings, and slides following guidelines and standards.Perform pump repairs and rebuilds with precision alignments.Assemble machinery and equipment using hand and power tools and welding equipment.Inspect and examine machinery to detect irregularities and troubleshoot issues.Essential SkillsExperience with troubleshooting hydraulics, motors, and conveyor maintenance.Proficiency in hydraulic repair.Ability to repair bearings, hydraulics, pumps, valves, motors, and gearboxes.Skilled in machining parts using milling machine and lathe.Previous experience working in a paper mill.Additional Skills & QualificationsProficiency with 480V equipment.Work Environment

The work environment includes both indoor and outdoor non-climate controlled facilities with brand new machines. Training occurs on the day shift, and employees eventually transition to 12-hour rotating shifts between day and night, with 15 days off per month. Employees work 40-50 hours per week, with optional overtime. The company emphasizes a family-oriented culture and requires a dress code of steel-toed boots, jeans, t-shirts, safety vests, and PPE.

This is a Permanent position based out of Ashland, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $74880.00/yr.
