**Job Title: Mig Welder** **Job Description**
Perform welding duties using GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding), FCAW (Flux Core Arc Welding), or SMAW (Stick Welding). You will weld steel components as specified by procedures, layouts, blueprints, diagrams, work orders, or oral instructions. Welds range from simple tacks to complex welds, performed in varying positions. A majority of the welds are flat butt welds, followed by vertical up welds. You will work in pairs to fabricate the chassis in the weld out area, before the components are sandblasted and prepared for wiring and plumbing. Responsibilities include set-up, laying out work using fixtures and guides, and operating related equipment and tools.
**Responsibilities**
+ Perform welding duties using specified welding techniques.
+ Work with steel components using various welding equipment.
+ Follow procedures, layouts, blueprints, diagrams, and work orders.
+ Conduct welding tasks ranging from simple tacks to complex welds.
+ Collaborate in pairs to fabricate chassis components.
+ Operate equipment and tools such as forklifts, hoists, grinders, and cutting torches.
+ Complete preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment.
+ Read and follow job order specifications, blueprints, and instructions.
**Essential Skills**
+ Minimum of 6 months welding experience or recent completion of LMC Weld Program.
+ Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
+ Proficiency in reading and working off blueprints.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ AWS Certification is advantageous.
+ Knowledge of blueprint and weld symbols is a plus.

**Work Environment**
Work in the weld out area, operating various equipment including forklifts, hoists, grinders, and cutting torches. The first shift runs from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, with potential overtime extending the day to 3:30 pm. **Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bridgman, MI.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
