**Job Title: MIG Welder**
**Job Description**
The MIG Welder is responsible for fabricating and welding metal components according to blueprints and specifications. This role involves operating welding equipment, ensuring quality standards, and maintaining a safe work environment.
**Responsibilities**
+ Perform MIG welding on parts such as leg stands, cab shields, engine mounts, and light bars.
+ Execute MIG tack welding to hold two pieces of steel together prior to finishing welds.
+ Conduct cosmetic MIG welding on VBOX Hopper Spreaders, ensuring straight-line MIG welds in various positions.
+ Read and interpret technical drawings, welding symbols, and specifications.
+ Fabricate metal parts, including cutting, grinding, and fitting before welding.
+ Inspect welds visually to ensure quality and adherence to specifications.
+ Operate hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment safely and effectively.
**Essential Skills**
+ Proficiency in MIG welding techniques, including high-quality welds on steel and possibly aluminum.
+ Experience welding stainless steel with thickness ranging from 14g to 3/4" plate.
+ Understanding of blueprint reading and welding symbols.
+ Fabrication skills, including cutting, grinding, and fitting of metal parts.
+ Ability to inspect welds for quality and adherence to specifications.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Around 2-3 years of experience working as a welder in a manufacturing environment or a welding trade school.
+ Manual dexterity with steady hands and good hand-eye coordination.
+ Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy materials, and work in various positions.
+ Knowledge of workplace safety practices, including PPE use and hazard recognition.
+ Precision in measurements and weld quality with attention to detail.
+ Ability to meet production deadlines without compromising quality.
+ Teamwork skills for collaborating with other welders, fabricators, and engineers.
+ Problem-solving skills to identify and correct welding or fabrication issues.

**Work Environment**
The work environment is a manufacturing setting where temperatures match the outside climate during summer. Water stations and access to ice pops are available to help manage the heat. The facility is organized with materials laid out neatly and forklifts operating throughout, requiring employees to be mindful of their surroundings.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lindenwood, Illinois.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
