From business intelligence and solutions for critical transportation infrastructure to planning and operating a safe, efficient, and reliable multimodal transportation system, the team connects people and markets across Minnesota.
As a Middleware Services Supervisor with Minnesota IT Services (MNIT) supporting the Department of Transportation (MnDOT), you will lead a team responsible for delivering critical middleware services, including reporting, web, and application hosting. In this role, you’ll provide direction, assign work, and guide staff within the Applications Operations section. Your team’s work enables MnDOT to leverage technology across all areas of its operations, from business intelligence and infrastructure solutions to planning and maintaining a safe, efficient, and reliable transportation system that connects people and markets throughout Minnesota.
**This position requires an employee to be onsite at 395 John Ireland Blvd, St Paul, Minnesota at least 50% of the time, with some opportunity to perform work from a telework location** **.** Telework (https://mn.gov/mmb-stat/policies/1422-telework.pdf) for Minnesota IT Services is available on a limited basis. Employees will be required to meet current telework eligibility requirements.

Position requires a minimum of four (4) years of experience working in an application hosting environment.
Experience must include:
+ Two (2) years of lead work or supervisory experience.
+ Providing technical direction for a technical support team.
+ Provide guidance of IT technical projects and initiatives.
+ Leading a team that utilizes both cloud based and on premise hosting services and options.
+ Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively to foster mutual understanding, and guide teams through change.
+ Customer-focused approach grounded in active listening, empathy, and solution-oriented problem-solving, complemented by formal or informal leadership and people engagement skills to deliver positive user experiences and high-performing results.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Proven ability to foster team development by promoting collaboration, trust, and knowledge sharing, while empowering individuals to achieve collective goals.
+ Application and data technical lifecycle knowledge.
+ Ability to work with all levels of the organization, including business and technical stakeholders.
+ Self-motivation, servant leadership, being a team player, developing rapport, networking, resolving conflict and negotiating with others.
+ Time management skills (independent and team), including the ability to understand problems before delivering a solution in a complex environment.
**Strongly Preferred Qualifications**

Proven ability to supervise a highly technical staff, understand technical issues and solutions, and be able to keep activities focused on MNIT Partnering with DOT strategic and tactical direction and its clientele.
