Mid-Cap Financial Sponsors Group Business Manager Vice President

This role will support the Mid-Cap Financial Sponsors Group, a crucial growth area consisting of ~70 Sponsor coverage bankers who provide comprehensive financial solutions to over 1,400 Private Equity firms and Family Offices. You will be part of a team that plays a pivotal role in fostering relationships between various client segments of the Commercial & Investment Bank, utilizing J.P. Morgan’s vast network and resources to establish the firm as a strategic advisor. Your role will involve interfacing across the Global Banking franchise, including Commercial Banking, Global Corporate Banking, and Investment Banking, with a focus on US-based small and mid-cap private businesses up to $100 million in EBITDA.

As a Business Management VP within the Mid-Cap Financial Sponsors Group, you will be a key partner to the business management team and senior leaders across Global Banking. You will support the group's strategic business agenda and management reporting, leveraging your understanding of financial operations to promote strategic dialogue across the organization. Your role will involve informing decision-making and providing analytical insight and business judgment to support strategic and tactical initiatives. The ideal candidate will be outcome-focused, exhibit a solutions-oriented mindset in tackling complex challenges, foster teamwork, and demonstrate the ability to manage a diverse project portfolio.
 

Job responsibilities

Support Business Management team, Head of Mid-Cap Financial Sponsors Group, and senior Sponsor coverage bankers on strategic initiatives, prioritization and management of key deliverables, management reporting, and ad-hoc projectsLeverage operational experience, data, and analytical insights to define overall performance objectives and assist with the development and execution of business and financial plansPrepare presentation materials to deliver timely, high-quality, detailed and results-oriented presentations and/or reporting to be shared with management, business groups, and other relevant stakeholdersIdentify areas for continued process improvement and enhance efficiencies by understanding data and reporting infrastructure and end-to-end management reporting processesCollaborate across finance and business management (F&BM) and other functional areas across Global Banking on projects to execute strategic initiatives and monitor outcomesCommunicate, interact with, and influence colleagues at all levels in the business including producing deliverables for senior leaders Work closely with the financial planning and analytics function, sales & business enablement, and marketing 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

7+ years of relevant experience in business management, management consulting, strategy, COO, CAO, banking or similar functionsBachelor’s degree Expertise with Excel and PowerPoint for executive-level presentations and messagingStrong project management skills, with demonstrated ability to execute strategic agenda and manage multiple projects and prioritiesAbility to partner/collaborate with business and functional stakeholders across the organization to drive execution and influence prioritization and delivery of objectivesAbility to think/act strategically and comfortable working independentlyExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong attention to detail and problem-solving skills with ability to manage and leverage data for analytics and reportingAbility to quickly and effectively respond to rapidly changing business needs and urgent requests.Strong organizational, time management and follow-up skills; flexibility, ability to prioritize requests and multi-task
