Microbiologist - Quality Control
Microbiologist - Quality Control Job Description The microbiologist will work in the microbiology Quality Control (QC) laboratory, focusing on method feasibility, development, and validation of all compendial microbiology-related methods for new product transfers to the site. This position will report directly to either the analytical development manager or a quality control manager and collaborate closely with the microbiology QC team and project team. Additionally, the role involves interfacing with external customers as a technical subject matter expert. The active projects include the development and validation of compendial-based microbiological methods for various veterinary pharmaceutical drug products, including sterile injections, non-sterile liquid suspensions, and solid oral doses, as well as their associated APIs and raw materials. More projects are anticipated soon. The candidate will receive training from senior microbiologists on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and equipment operation, following templates for document authoring. Responsibilities + Perform method feasibility, development, and validation of microbiology-related methods. + Collaborate with the microbiology QC team and project team. + Interface with external customers as a technical subject matter expert. + Develop and validate microbiological methods for various veterinary pharmaceutical drug products. + Author, execute, and report on method development and validation protocols. + Conduct sterility testing, method validation, endotoxin testing, and microbial limits testing. + Perform subvisible particulate testing and media growth promotion. + Identify microbes and conduct cell culture and aseptic techniques. Essential Skills + Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field with 4+ years of relevant experience. + Experience in a cGMP FDA 21CFR210/211 pharmaceutical manufacturing quality control role. + Proficiency in method development and validation protocol authoring. + Experience in sterility USP testing and method validation. + Experience in endotoxin USP testing and method validation. + Experience in microbial limits testing USP and . + Subvisible particulate testing per USP . + Media growth promotion and microbial identification skills. Skills & Qualifications + Bachelor's degree in microbiology or biology. + Experience with ELISA, bioburden, and sterility techniques. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Shawnee Mission, KS. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $42.00/hr.
