**Job Summary:**
Manages the daily operations of the central sterile supply unit.
**Job Responsibilities and Requirements:**
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Develops specific departmental goals, standards, and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.
+ Collects and reports on data concerning instrument distribution, loss and replacement. Works collaboratively to identify and implement strategies related to product standardization, supply reduction, and cost containment.
+ Manages staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction and conflict management. May perform and oversee processes such as scheduling, recruitment, payroll and student engagement.
+ Monitors departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, departmental contracts, vendor relations, and quality and process compliance of all sterilization activities throughout the health system.
+ Monitors quality and process compliance of all sterilization activities.
+ Establish and maintain sterilization, safety and security standards, policies and procedures for Sterile Processing Department to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.
+ Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
EXPERIENCE
+ Two years of sterile processing and distribution experience and two years of demonstrated leadership responsibility
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
+ Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
+ Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
+ Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.
+ Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
+ Frequent keyboard use/data entry.
+ Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping.
+ Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
+ Rare climbing.
REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL LICENSE AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS

+ Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA)
+ Or
+ Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) - The Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD)
