Metrology Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Temporary Metrology Resource to support a critical 4‑month project at our GTIC facility in Philadelphia. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining a comprehensive master instrument list, executing and documenting calibration activities, and ensuring all instrumentation supporting critical utilities and building systems complies with cGMP and industry standards.
This position plays a key role in supporting the project timeline while maintaining strict quality and compliance expectations within an FDA‑regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
+ Develop, maintain, and manage the facility Master Instrument List, including calibration parameters for all applicable systems, such as:
+ Building Automation Systems (BAS)
+ Environmental Monitoring Systems (EMS)
+ Process Control Systems (PCS) / Temperature Control Units (TCUs)
+ Compressed Air systems
+ Water for Injection (WFI) systems
+ Parts Washers and Autoclaves
+ Utility Panels, Water Systems, HVAC, and other facility utilities
+ Schedule and coordinate calibration activities and vendor service visits in collaboration with:
+ Facilities Engineering
+ EHS
+ System owners
+ Project team members
+ Review calibration certificates and service reports for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
+ Accurately enter and maintain calibration data within SAP Calibration Management or a comparable CMMS.
+ Organize and maintain audit‑ready instrument history files.
+ Complete all required GMP, safety, and procedural training in a timely manner.
+ Participate in project meetings and provide regular updates on metrology status and deliverables.
+ Support inventory management by stocking calibration parts and maintaining an organized Metrology lab.
+ Perform additional duties as required to ensure overall project success.
Qualifications & ExperienceEducation
+ Associate degree in Engineering Science or a related technical field
+ OR
+ Equivalent combination of relevant education and hands‑on experience
Required Experience
+ Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience in instrument calibration, maintenance, and metrology within:
+ Pharmaceutical
+ Biotechnology
+ Medical device
+ Or other FDA‑regulated cGMP industries
+ Proven experience calibrating instruments for:
+ Pressure
+ Temperature
+ Level
+ Flow
+ pH and conductivity
Preferred Experience
+ Direct hands‑on experience with utilities and process instrumentation, including:
+ WFI systems
+ HVAC
+ Compressed air
+ Autoclaves
+ TCUs
+ Environmental monitoring systems
Systems & Compliance Knowledge
Required
+ Strong working knowledge of:
+ FDA 21 CFR Part 11
+ cGMP
+ GDP
+ Industry standards such as ISPE, GAMP, ISO, USP, ASTM
Preferred
+ Experience with computerized calibration management systems, such as:
+ SAP PM
+ ProCal
+ Blue Mountain
+ RAM

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $60.00/hr.
