Caterpillar Building KK in East Peoria, IL is looking to train new employees that desire to become our next employees in Heat Treat. The **Metal Treating Specialist Trainee** program is a paid program designed to provide a unique learning experience for highly motivated individuals who are interested in pursuing a career in manufacturing and learning new skills. Positions available on 2nd and 3rd shifts after 4 - 6 weeks of training on 1st shift. **What You Will Do (including but not limited to):** Upon completion of the program, individuals will be responsible for: + Set up, operation, and adjustment of heat-treat equipment to perform carburizing, cycle annealing and die quenching of gears Physical Qualifications (with or without accommodation). + Work in environment with frequently changing temperatures, some extreme. + Frequent walking, bending, reaching. + Occasional stooping, crouching, and climbing. + Repetitive grasping, pushing, pulling rotating. + Standing for a minimum of 8 hour shifts. **Basic Qualifications:** + High school diploma or previous work/volunteer experience. + Knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures. + Experience in a manufacturing environment. + Basic computer skills. + Ability to work overtime when required, including weekends. **Top Candidates Will Have:** + Previous heat treat experience. + Previous machine shop experience. + Strong commitment to safety at all times. + Excellent attitude and willingness to learn. **Additional Information:** + **2nd shift:** Monday - Friday 2:30PM - 10:30PM. + **3rd shift:** Monday - Friday 10:30PM - 6:30AM. + Starting pay is $23.22 per hour. + $1.00 an hour night shift premium. + **This is a supplemental position – minimum 40 hours per week with limited benefits available.** + Relocation is not offered for this position. + This position requires no travel. + Please frequently check the email associated with your application, including the junk/spam folder, as this is the primary correspondence method.
