The Metal Building Superintendent is responsible for planning construction procedures based on specifications, starting and completion times, and staffing requirements for each phase of construction. This role involves assembling the project team, managing tool and material procurement, and coordinating with supervisory personnel and subcontractors to ensure timely project execution.
ResponsibilitiesStudy specifications to plan construction procedures.Assemble supervisory, clerical, engineering, and other workers at the project start.Order tools and materials for timely delivery to meet work schedules.Coordinate with supervisory personnel and subcontractors to execute work procedures and prevent delays.Resolve workforce complaints and grievances in collaboration with supervisory personnel and company representatives.Collaborate with project management personnel, inspectors, and suppliers to resolve construction issues and improve methods.Inspect ongoing work to ensure adherence to specifications and schedules.Prepare or review progress reports, material usage, and costs, adjusting work schedules as needed.Direct major maintenance or reconditioning projects for existing installations.Prepare and report payroll, per diem, daily reports, and safety rosters.Ensure adherence to safety regulations (OSHA, client, and company rules).Provide on-the-job training for subordinates.Work with human resources to hire or transfer employees as necessary.Administer employee discipline and praise through warnings, evaluations, and pay adjustments.Essential Skills4-10 years of experience in Metal Building and steel erection.Experience in construction supervision and commercial construction.Current Driver's License.Familiarity with industrial manufacturing.Ability to manage and evaluate subordinate supervisors and employees.Additional Skills & QualificationsCDL preferred.OSHA 30 certification preferred.First Aid/CPR certification preferred.Certified Crane Operator preferred.Work EnvironmentThis position requires working onsite in industrial manufacturing facilities, which may be loud and dirty. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $95000.00/yr.
