Position Purpose:

Responsible for executing the overall short and long term strategy for assigned category/ categories. This includes, creating and maintaining service provider relationships, marketing products and services, developing program strategies and reporting financial results. The Install Merchant makes all or most of the program decisions for the assigned category and negotiates terms with service providers to drive promotional and marketing initiatives.


Key Responsibilities:

20% Program Strategy: Develop overarching strategies/plans for the line of business programs (Ex. Service offering assortment, product integration, promotions) and manage their successful execution.20% Service Provider Management: Work with Division Merchandise Manager and Product Merchants to develop pricing and positioning guidelines for the programs and ensures successful implementation; Including line reviews, distributer alignment and Service provider onboarding.20% Financial Planning: Set budget / financial targets and sets pricing to remain competitive. Ongoing performance management; gross margin / IMU analysis; retail pricing / comp shops, etc.20% Store Execution and Quality Assurance: Manage/Coordinate activities of Services field team and performs- voice of customer analysis to ensure quality assurance. May serve as a key contributor on various key projects within a business function.20% People Management: Coordinate the development of training and support programs for Sales Associates, Expeditors, and Installers. Ensure compliance and consistency in execution including handling customer escalations; Service Provider compliance issues; quality review oversight


Direct Manager/Direct Reports:

Typically Reports to the Sr. Merchant or Division Merchandise Manager.Accountable for direct supervision of the work activities of others. In addition to personnel issues -- including selection, termination, performance appraisal and professional development of Associate Merchant(s) and At Home Services Specialist(s).


Travel Requirements:

Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.


Physical Requirements:

Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.


Working Conditions:

Located in a comfortable indoor area. Conditions could produce mild discomfort on occasion.


Minimum Qualifications:

Must be eighteen years of age or older.Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Bachelor's degree, preferably in business or related fieldProven ability to manage large scale projects in a complex environmentProven proficiency in both a brick and mortar and online retail environmentExperience with database management software and SQL

The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
