Merchandise Analytics Summer Intern
Overview

As a Merchandise Analytics Intern, you will assist in the areas of Merchandise Planning, Pricing, & Space Analytics.  This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in merchandise performance analysis, reporting, process improvement, product pricing strategy, & space planning analytics.  This internship will provide a valuable opportunity to develop your analytical skills and contribute to key business initiatives, as well as working with a variety of cross functional teams.

 

In this 10-week internship, you will gain practical experience in analytics and merchandising strategy by using advanced reporting tools and dashboards, and collaborating with teams in merchandise planning, pricing, space planning, and category management. You will work with analytical teams to analyze merchandise performance, manage KPI accuracy, and develop actionable insights to maximize revenue and support sales growth. This opportunity will not only enhance your analytical skills in a real-world setting but also provide valuable exposure to strategic decision-making, process improvement, and cross-functional teamwork, deepening your understanding of how data drives business success in merchandising.

Overview of Responsibilities

Analyze merchandise performance to identify trends and opportunitiesReview and interpret reports to inform strategic decisionsEvaluate key metrics to assess effectiveness and drive improvementsSupport teams in merchandising planning, pricing, and space planning initiatives Identify and recommend process improvements for enhanced efficiencyAnalyze pricing strategies and provide recommendations for optimizationCollaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve shared goalsUtilize various systems and software to manage data and reporting tasks
Qualifications

Currently enrolled in sophomore or junior year and pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in economics, business, finance, statistics, or a related field.Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.Ability to solve problems using data analysis techniques.Intermediate proficiency in Excel, including VLOOKUP and PivotTables.Quick learner with the ability to navigate and utilize database systems and protocols.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
