Maintenance Technician: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and supporting existing equipment and new equipment installations in our flagship metals plant.
Maintenance Technician Primary Responsibilities:
Work safely. Adhere to all company and regulatory EH&S policies and procedures Follow all lockout procedures, safety rules, OSHA requirements. Use computer system for work management, parts usage, equipment information and training. Conduct preventative maintenance tasks as assigned. Troubleshoot and repair all types of plant and production equipment (electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, etc.) Repair equipment as necessary to maintain production. Maintain spare parts stock in orderly manner and reorder as required. Maintain records of repairs, preventative maintenance, and machining. Keep maintenance equipment and area in clean and orderly condition and adhere to all housekeeping initiatives and policies. Assist in the training of other Maintenance personnel. Must be able to work flexible shifts, with appropriate notice. Work overtime or report in when called as required. Set up and perform machining as required. Other duties as assigned by Supervisor / Area Manager / Team Lead.Education and experience
Required:
High school graduate, GED or equivalentPreferred:
Trade school completion 2-year Degree with mechanical and/or electrical focus Foundry or previous manufacturing work experience in a related occupationTechnical Competencies
Read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals Must have working knowledge of machining, machine repair, lift truck repair, overhead crane repair, precision maintenance, industrial electricity, industrial electronics and controls/PLCs, hydraulics, and combustion. Familiarity with common hand tools – how to use safely and appropriately General fabrication (welding, torch cutting, layout, fixturing and clamping). Familiarity with automation and robotics.Skills/Competencies
Ability to identify unusual sights and sounds associated with equipment and process. Must be able to read work instructions. Critical thinking and problem solving. Must be able to effectively communicate and collaborate with other co-workers at all levels of the organization. Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
