CVP is seeking Medical Support Assistants to support the VA Central Texas Veterans Health Care System (CTVHCS) Care in the Community (CITC) service. These positions will provide care coordination and consult processing including access, scheduling, and coordinating appointments following approved principles, CITC referral processing, and customer service.
Responsibilities Schedule appointments within three business days of receipt of order from providerComplete at least 20 scheduling actions per dayProcess community care consults via HealthShare Referral Manager (HSRM) and Provider Profile Management System (PPMS)Validate and update patient demographic informationEnsure all necessary health/administrative information is processed for integration into CPRS and VistAScreen calls in a courteous and timely manner and respond to telephone inquiriesResolve appointments within 2 business days for no-shows or cancellationsMaintain privacy and confidentiality for patients, families, medical records, and electronic informationSafeguard medical records and follow appropriate guidelines for releasing confidential informationComplete grid access requests in a timely manner for both opening and closing availabilityComplete approved provider grid changes with both HUB and Spoke sites accurately and timelyProvide self-directed support to clinical staff, patients and familiesManage requests for information and determine appropriate actionRespond to all inquiries and messages within 48 business hoursUse Microsoft office products daily including Excel, Word, Outlook & Microsoft TeamsContinuously update patient demographics, including phone number, address, next of kin, emergency contact and insurance informationDemonstrate Integrity, Commitment, Advocacy, Respect, and Excellence (ICARE) values in all interactions Qualifications High School diploma or GED equivalent requiredPrevious experience as a Medical Support Assistant in a healthcare setting preferredPrevious VA experience preferredType at least 50 WPMBasic computer skillsBasic medical terminology knowledgeExcellent oral and written communication skillsStrong customer service orientationAbility to work independently and set prioritiesAbility to operate computerized programs and databasesAbility to identify customer concerns and resolve issues accurately and timelyMust be a U.S. citizen and able to pass a government background investigationLocation:
