Medical Receptionist

 The Medical Receptionist VSP supports CenterWell medical offices by providing excellent front-desk service on a flexible, as-needed basis. This role is responsible for greeting patients, answering phones, scheduling appointments, and performing general administrative duties. The position works variable hours per week, based on clinic needs.

The typical work schedule for a CenterWell Medical Receptionist VSP is up to 20 hours per week. However, as this is a Variable Staffing Pool (VSP) position, actual weekly hours may vary depending on the needs of the clinic.

The Medical Receptionist VSP welcomes patients and offers administrative support within a physician practice or center. This may include the following responsibilities:

Greet Patients: Welcome patients and visitors, both in person and over the phone.Schedule Appointments: Manage appointment calendars, schedule patient visits, and coordinate with medical staff to improve schedules.Patient Records: Maintain patient records, ensuring accuracy. Work in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.Billing and Payments: Ensure patient accounts are updated correctly. May include collecting copay at time of visit.Inquiries and Communication: Answer incoming calls, respond to patient inquiries, and provide general information.Office Management: Ensure the reception area is tidy, sanitized, and well-stocked with necessary materials.Administrative Support: Help with other administrative tasks, such as ordering supplies, managing office inventory, and sending courier packages.

​The supervisor restricts decision-making to established guidelines concerning work expectations, quality standards, priorities, and schedules, and manages activities in alignment with existing policies, allowing little room for deviation.

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED1 year or more of experience working in a Healthcare setting preferred, but will consider candidates with a strong Customer Service background in Retail Hospitality, Call Centers, etc.Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving patient experiences and careExcellent customer service and phone etiquetteTeam player with a positive attitudeAbility to multitask in a fast-paced environmentAttention to detail and highly organizedKnowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access)

Preferred Qualifications:

Value-based care model experienceKnowledge of Medical TerminologyExperience with EMR Systems (Electronic Medical Records)Bilingual in English and Spanish

This role is considered patient-facing and is part of the company's Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected for this role, you will be required to be screened for TB.

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
