Job Description
The Medical Receptionist will play a crucial role in managing the reception area of a bustling outpatient site. Responsibilities include checking patients in and out, verifying insurance and copays, and scheduling appointments. Additionally, the role involves answering incoming calls and working in the medical billing department to collect past due payments.
Responsibilities
+ Greet patients professionally both in person and over the phone.
+ Quickly address or properly refer questions and issues.
+ Optimize provider schedules and enhance patient satisfaction with efficient scheduling.
+ Notify providers of patient arrivals.
+ Comfort patients by anticipating their anxieties and effectively answering questions.
+ Ensure the availability of treatment information by retrieving and updating patient records.
+ Verify financial records and collect patient charges while filing and expediting third-party claims.
+ Collect on past due medical billing claims.
Essential Skills
+ Healthcare experience.
+ Collections experience.
+ Insurance verification skills.
+ Medical office front desk experience.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
+ Administrative support skills.
+ Patient registration expertise.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ 2+ years of non-clinical healthcare experience.
+ High School Diploma or GED.
Work Environment
The role is situated in a small, fast-paced office environment. The hours are Monday through Friday from 12 PM to 8 PM. The location is in Yorktown Heights, NY. This position offers growth opportunities within a small company, with the potential to advance into supervisory roles.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $19.00/hr.
