Medical Physicist – Radiation TherapyFull Time, First Shift
The Radiation Therapy Department delivers advanced radiation treatment as part of comprehensive cancer care. The department works collaboratively with oncology physicians and multidisciplinary teams to provide safe, precise, and effective radiation therapy while prioritizing patient-centered care, quality outcomes, and compliance with clinical and regulatory standards.
The Medical Physicist is a key member of the Radiation Oncology team, providing clinical physics expertise to support safe, accurate, and effective radiation therapy treatment. This role focuses on treatment planning, quality assurance, equipment calibration, and regulatory compliance while supporting clinical operations and process improvement initiatives.
ResponsibilitiesEnsure safe and accurate operation of radiation therapy equipment and treatment planning systems
Develop, implement, and oversee quality control and quality assurance programs
Perform daily, weekly, and annual equipment calibration and dosimetry checks
Design and verify radiation treatment plans in collaboration with Radiation Oncologists
Perform treatment plan calculations, chart checks, and final physics reviews
Support installation, testing, and maintenance of radiation therapy equipment
Oversee radioactive source handling, storage, and compliance
Participate in clinical research, quality improvement, and continuing education
Provide education and support to staff, students, and residents
Maintain regulatory compliance and promote patient and staff safety
RequirementsMaster’s or Doctorate degree in Medical Physics or related field
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Therapeutic Radiologic Physics or Radiological Physics (ABR)
No prior experience required (Radiation Oncology experience preferred)
Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills
