The PositionThe Opportunity
The Medical Partner is a trusted, externally focused, scientifically grounded partner within our customer engagement model. By building and maintaining deep and trusted connections with key customers over a meaningful period of time, the Medical Partner will generate impact by anticipating and proactively optimizing medical practice, and ensure that Roche is a preferred partner in our key disease areas.
The Medical function serves as a critical engine of competitiveness to ensure our innovations reach their full potential for patients with an end to end perspective. The role of the Medical Partner is designed to maximize local and cross-country medical and scientific activities to accelerate the delivery of our pipeline, differentiate our portfolio based on data, drive strategic advocacy, community engagement, medical practice adoption, and access to our portfolio by proactively capitalizing on \"Moments that Matter\" across the asset lifecycle.
Main Responsibilities
- Scientific Leadership and Expertise: Provide deep medical expertise to differentiate the pipeline and portfolio throughout the entire product lifecycle. Lead the medical component of integrated strategies, crafting a scientifically sound value story that aligns with business goals. Deliver high-quality scientific data and non-promotional exchanges internally and externally.
- Proactive External Engagement: Proactively engage with external customers as partners in the integrated customer engagement strategy, and systematically collect and translate insights into actionable strategic recommendations.
- Evidence Generation: Contribute directly to the local evidence strategy, proactively identifying local differentiating evidence gaps, and facilitating the development and implementation of differentiating tactics to address the prioritized gaps, execute data-generation projects, including RWE, Real-World Data, and Investigator-Initiated Studies (IIS), to address prioritized evidence gaps.
- Compliance & Safety: Maintain the \"License to Operate\" by ensuring all activities adhere to GCP/GVP standards, ethical guidelines, and mandatory safety reporting.
- Time Allocation: 50% Office Based / 50% Field Based
Who you are
Required Education and Experience
- Medical, Pharmaceutical, or Natural Sciences degree (e.g., MD, PharmD, PhD, or equivalent, BA in Pharmacy/Medical).
- Prior experience in Medical Affairs, or equivalent scientific/clinical expertise in a relevant Disease Area – preferably in Ophthalmology or Multiple Sclerosis.
- Fluent in oral and written English
- Good understanding of the healthcare system environment, including health care policy, the reimbursement environment and health technology assessment environment.
- Robust understanding of pharmaceutical drug development, medical affairs strategies and tactics including clinical research and main industry medical compliance processes.
- Dedicated DA and product, competition knowledge. Understanding of fast paced, highly competitive market dynamics
- Strong data comprehension, critical appraisal, synthesis interpretation and delivery of data/information skills
- Evidence generation and GxP knowledge.
- Scientific and Publication management.
- Good understanding and interest of state of the art and trends of digital health.
