Job Title: Medical Lab Scientist IJob Description

Join a leading health care diagnostics and drug development company as a Medical Lab Scientist I in our central laboratory. Our Safety Testing Team is seeking a dedicated individual for long-term collaboration in providing top-quality testing services and bioanalysis.

ResponsibilitiesDetermine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.Assist with processing of specimens when needed.Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.Essential SkillsBS/AS Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Science, or Medical Laboratory Technology (No experience required with these degrees).Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or related life science field AND 12+ months of CLIA/CAP lab testing experience.Experience in Chemistry, Immunology, Hematology, and Immunochemistry.Additional Skills & QualificationsASCP or AMT certification is preferred.Instrument troubleshooting and calibration experience.Prior validation experience.Proficiency with computers and familiarity with laboratory information systems.Ability to work independently and within a team environment.High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills.Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen.Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs.Work Environment

The position is based onsite at our Indianapolis facility. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 7 am to 4 pm. The role involves working with chemistry and Automated Immunology platforms and supports IVDR remediation. Appropriate personal protective equipment is required to maintain a safe work environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $36.00/hr.
