Education: High School diploma or GED requiredExperience: 2+ years of medical billing/medical office experience OR Certification as RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) or RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator)Typing: 40 words per minuteKnowledge: Basic medical terminology requiredImmunization Requirements (Must be current or able to obtain):

Your role will be essential to the billing and collections process within the Military Treatment Facility. Duties include (but are not limited to):
Educate patients and staff on billing procedures and required forms,Manage Medical Service Accounts and Affirmative Claims in accordance with DHA and UBO guidelinesIdentify and verify insurance coverage through internal systems and direct communication with insurersInput and update insurance information in CHCS, AHLTA, MHS GENESIS, TPOCS, and other government systemsReview medical records for billing accuracy and clarificationPrepare and submit claims to third-party payers (UB-04, CMS-1500, or electronic forms)Follow up on claims to ensure timely payment and case resolutionCoordinate with the Admissions and Dispositions Office for authorizations and pre-certificationsAt USGP, we are proud to support those who serve.
