Medical Assistant Floater
Job Description
Join our team as a Medical Assistant Floater at our Jacksonville Northside location. This role requires flexibility, dedication, and professionalism. You will perform quality team-based patient care under the direct supervision of a clinician, handling both clinical and administrative functions to promote health and wellness in a safe and friendly environment. As a Laboratory Medical Assistant Floater, you will perform all laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks. You will support various offices in either the Medical Assistant role or a dedicated laboratory capacity.
Responsibilities
Perform laboratory testing procedures and report results to a healthcare clinician.Alert the healthcare clinician of any critical or out-of-range values and document critical reports.Perform phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks.Prepare specimens for reference lab send-outs, including labeling, resulting, and billing information.Perform and document daily/weekly/monthly quality control, including instrument maintenance.Conduct patient intake vitals, such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rate; repeat and notify the clinician of any abnormal findings.Interview patients based on age appropriateness and/or specialty needs with accurate documentation and update medical records.Obtain necessary medical records, consultation notes, hospital inpatient and/or ED discharge records, diagnostic and laboratory results for clinician review and treatment follow-up as needed.Essential Skills

This is a patient-facing role that involves working indoors and operating a computer. The position requires the ability to reach outward and above the shoulder, manual dexterity, and the ability to lift/carry up to 10 lbs. You will be expected to sit, walk, squat, kneel, or bend as needed. The schedule is Monday to Friday from 7:45 am to 5:00 pm with a later start on Wednesday from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm, and Saturdays from 7:45 am to 12:30 pm on rotation.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35000.00 - $47000.00/yr.
