Job Summary

The Electrophysiology Section of the Cardiac Procedures Unit is currently seeking a part-time Medical Assistant to join its established team. This position is located in the Cardiovascular Center.

Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work well within a team setting.

Medical Assistant Associate:

1-3 years of relevant experience

Medical Assistant:

0-1 years of experienceSome office experienceDesired Qualifications*Certification as an EMT, CNA or MA preferred.Previous Experience in a hospital setting as Medical Assistant, Housekeeping/Environmental Management Patient Transporter or equivalent experience.1-2 years of recent experience as a Nurse Aide/ICU Tech in a hospital setting. Vocational training in Health Care of College level courses in Health Care.Understands and demonstrates the core concepts of Patient and Family Centered Care (PFCC), including Respect and Dignity, Information Sharing, Participation, and Collaboration.Adhere to high standards of teamwork by demonstrating adaptability, flexibility, and consistently sharing information and resources with othersAbility to work independently in an ever-changing and potentially stressful environment Demonstrate dependability, initiative, ability to prioritize, and ability to accept directionProven ability to work as a member of a team and be self-directed.Excellent communication and problem-solving skillsStrong organizational skillsExcellent attendance recordWork Schedule

Part time: 20 hours, 9-5:30

Union Affiliation

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the United Michigan Medicine Allied Professionals (UMMAP), which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours, and other terms and conditions of employment.

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.  Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
