Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Medical Assistant to join our team in the Fernandina Beach location. The ideal candidate must be flexible and committed to providing quality team-based patient care under the direct supervision of a clinician. This position involves both clinical and administrative functions to promote health and wellness in a safe and friendly environment. As a Floater, you will support clinicians and care management teams in chronic disease management and perform laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy.
Responsibilities
+ Perform quality team-based patient care under clinician supervision.
+ Support care management teams in chronic disease management.
+ Perform all laboratory testing procedures, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks.
+ Work in various offices to support as either a Medical Assistant or in a dedicated Laboratory role.
+ Report laboratory results to healthcare clinicians and alert them of critical values.
+ Prepare specimens for reference lab send-outs, including labeling and billing information.
+ Perform and document daily/weekly/monthly quality control, including instrument maintenance.
+ Document patient intake vitals and report abnormal findings to the clinician.
+ Interview patients based on age and specialty needs, and update medical records accurately.
+ Obtain necessary medical records and results for clinician review and follow-up.
Essential Skills
+ MA Diploma/Certification or a minimum of 3 years MA experience.
+ Active BLS certification.
+ Active and valid driver's license.
+ Proficiency in phlebotomy and laboratory testing procedures.
+ Knowledge of medical terminology and electronic health records.
+ Experience in patient care, triage, and patient education.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bilingual abilities.
+ Experience in family medicine, pediatrics, and internal medicine.
+ Skills in appointment scheduling and insurance verification.
+ Competence in front desk operations and data entry.
Work Environment
The role involves patient-facing duties in an indoor setting, operating a computer, and occasional exposure to hazards. Physical activities include reaching outward and above the shoulder, manual dexterity, and lifting/carrying up to 10 lbs. The position requires sitting, walking, squatting, kneeling, or bending. Regular working hours are Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5 pm, with occasional Saturday shifts from 8 am to 12 pm, up to two times per month

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35000.00 - $47000.00/yr.
