Medical Assistant

The medical assistant will perform quality team-based patient care under the direct supervision of a clinician for both clinical and administrative functions to promote health and wellness in a safe and friendly environment. The role supports clinicians and care management teams in assessing, maintaining chronic disease management, examining, and treating patient populations. The medical assistant is responsible for performing all laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks.

Responsibilities

Perform quality team-based patient care under direct supervision of a clinician.Support clinician and care management teams in chronic disease management and patient examination.Conduct all laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks.Assist in promoting health and wellness in a safe and friendly environment.

Essential Skills

Knowledge of medical terminology.Experience in medical assisting and healthcare.Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR).Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA).Ability to perform triage.Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.Phlebotomy experience.Ability to take vitals, with preference for manual vitals.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

High school diploma required.Minimum of 2 years' experience within clinic/back office healthcare setting.Medical Assistant diploma or 3 years' experience as a Medical Assistant.Active driver's license required.Bilingual in English and Creole preferred.Flexibility to adjust to changing work environments.Job Type & Location

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40000.00 - $41000.00/yr.
