Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. This role involves triaging patients, preparing examination rooms, documenting medical interventions, and assisting with various administrative tasks. The Medical Assistant will work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient patient care and satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Triage incoming patients by obtaining vital signs, chief complaint, and preparing them for their visit.Prepare exam rooms for patient visits, restock clinical areas, sterilize instruments, and maintain medical equipment.Document interventions in the electronic medical record and review charts for completeness, test results, and billing.Scan upcoming appointments for additional medical record information and obtain medical records from other healthcare facilities prior to patient visits.Complete assigned tasks including responding to patient messages, prescription refills, lab results, referrals, medication prior authorizations, and patient forms.Administer and collect patient satisfaction surveys and contact patients between visits to assess medical status and medication adherence.Follow protocols related to infection control, environmental safety, and patient confidentiality.Complete annual recertification for OSHA, Compliance, Respiratory FIT, IT policy, and maintain current CPR and MA certification.Cover for other clinical staff during vacations and illness and perform other duties as assigned.Essential Skills

This position is located within a learning facility that offers opportunities for career growth and skill development. The work hours are Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with a 30-minute lunch break. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portsmouth, VA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
