Job Title: Medical AssistantJob Description

As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the healthcare team by performing essential patient care tasks and ensuring a smooth operation of medical activities. You will be responsible for documenting vital signs, preparing patients and examination rooms for procedures, and maintaining a clean and organized environment. Your assistance will extend to aiding physicians with procedures and communicating instructions to patients.

ResponsibilitiesPerform vital sign documentation.Prepare patients and rooms for exams and procedures.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment.Provide essential patient care assistance to support daily activities, such as greeting patients and taking vital signs.Assist physicians with procedures by documenting medical history and case notes.Relay instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person.Collect patient data in person and by phone, and document patient concerns.Enter messages and care provided into the electronic medical record for physician review.Take complete and accurate messages, route them to the appropriate area, and handle order and referral entry.Set up cases in the EMR system, perform basic registration, and update demographics.Accurately document medical information in patient records.Track and route test results to physicians/nurse practitioners for review.Communicate test results with patients when deemed appropriate.Facilitate patient care activities, including scheduling ancillary tests, reinforcing patient education, and performing triage as directed.Maintain adequate inventory of medical, office, and pharmaceutical supplies.Perform basic computer skills using electronic health records proficiently for daily documentation and communication.Essential SkillsProficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.Knowledge of medical assisting and patient care.Experience in phlebotomy and vitals documentation.1+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant.Additional Skills & QualificationsCertified Medical Assistant (CMA) credentials.Ability to process orders accurately.Skills in triage and patient education.Work Environment

The position operates within a busy urgent care setting, handling 50-100 patients a day. Work hours are Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, with flexibility to extend to 6 PM if needed. The environment offers opportunities for overtime across different specialties, fostering growth within the company.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Middletown, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.
