Job Title: Medical Assistant - Adult Neurology

Job Description

Join the Department of Neurology as a Medical Assistant, where you will contribute significantly to our team. In this specialty, while physicians handle most hands-on patient care, you will be responsible for taking vitals, rooming patients, scheduling, and registering them. Given the nature of neurology, you will encounter patients with various ailments, requiring calm and professional de-escalation skills.

Responsibilities

Check-in and check-out patients.Take and record vitals.Schedule and register patients.Room patients and prepare them for examinations.Perform basic lab tests.Handle administrative tasks such as taking calls from patients and monitoring new and return patient contact.Record and update patient medical histories in the EPIC EHR system.Monitor supply inventory to ensure adequate supplies and equipment are available.Clean and stock exam rooms when necessary.

Essential Skills

Certification as a Medical Assistant (CCMA/RMA).Experience using EPIC EHR system software.At least 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant in any discipline.Patient registration and scheduling experience.Phlebotomy skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Completion of a Medical Assistant program to earn Certified Medical Assistant status.Updated Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.1 year of EPIC experience is a plus.

Work Environment

This role is based in a clinical setting within the Neurology Department, assisting at two locations on the 6th and 7th floors of the CAM. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of St. Louis, MO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
