Job Title: Medical Assistant

Job Description

The medical assistant will perform clinical duties in a clinic setting under the supervision of a physician. The primary responsibilities will focus on back-office tasks, including taking vitals and assisting providers. Occasionally, assistance with front-office tasks will be required. Additional duties include restocking materials as necessary and cleaning rooms after patient visits.

Responsibilities

Take and record patient vitals accurately.Assist healthcare providers with clinical tasks.Perform phlebotomy procedures.Conduct patient triage efficiently.Support pediatric and family health services.Restock materials and supplies as needed.Clean and prepare examination rooms after patient visits.Provide excellent customer service to patients and families.

Essential Skills

3+ years of medical assistant experience.Experience in pediatric or family health settings.Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification through the Maryland Board of Nursing (NAHP, NCCT, AAMA, NHA, AMT).Proficiency in phlebotomy, patient registration, insurance verification, and triage.Excellent ability to take and record patient vitals.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with Epic or similar electronic medical records systems is a plus.Strong customer service skills.Ability to learn quickly and manage multiple tasks effectively.Reliability and professionalism in a clinical setting.

Work Environment

The position is located in Towson, MD, within a small practice that is part of a larger health system. The practice is intimate, featuring only one provider, fostering a close-knit work environment. Free parking is available onsite

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Baltimore, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
