As a Medical Assistant, you will play an essential role in ensuring smooth daily operations, delivering exceptional patient experiences, and supporting providers in a fast-paced urgent care setting.
About the RoleIn this position, you will assist physicians and nurse practitioners with exams, procedures, documentation, and patient communication. You’ll help maintain an organized, safe clinical environment while ensuring each patient receives attentive, high-quality care.
Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare patients and exam rooms for daily procedures and appointmentsDocument medical history, vitals, and case notes accuratelyAssist physicians during procedures and support patient follow-upRelay physician instructions to patients or authorized individualsCollect patient information in person and by phone, entering data into the EMRRecord messages and route them appropriately for clinical reviewEnter orders, referrals, and basic registration updates in the EMRManage test result tracking and communicate results when appropriateSupport patient care coordination, including scheduling and reinforcing educationPerform triage activities as directedMaintain inventory of medical, office, and pharmaceutical suppliesUse electronic health records efficiently for daily documentation and communicationRequired Skills & ExperienceMinimum 1 year of experience as a Medical AssistantStrong EMR proficiencyExcellent communication and patient care skillsAbility to document information clearly and accuratelyPreferred QualificationsPhlebotomy experiencePrevious experience in urgent care or other fast-paced clinical settingsWork Environment & GrowthThis role is based in a high-volume urgent care facility, seeing approximately 50–100 patients per day. You will work alongside experienced providers in a dynamic clinical environment with opportunities for overtime and advancement into various specialties across the organization.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Middletown, NY.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.
