Job Description
This position, known as the Pilot Operator, involves working at an R&D facility where you will participate in prototype assemblies and assist in developing new product lines. This role requires collaboration with engineers and technicians to build and enhance production lines. The work will take place both in and out of cleanrooms, with opportunities for cross-training in multiple areas.
Responsibilities
+ Engage in prototype assembly and testing.
+ Use hand tools such as tweezers, pliers, crimpers, and screwdrivers.
+ Solder components using flux.
+ Perform light welding on parts.
+ Utilize microscopes extensively for various tasks.
+ Operate flattener machines and semi-automated reflow machines.
+ Manage an injection mold press and ensure accurate resin setup.
+ Collaborate closely with engineers and technicians to improve processes and resolve issues.
+ Work in grinding areas for part finishing, utilizing grinding machines and deburring tools.
+ Perform tasks in the lab, including welding, inspections, and assembly using microscopes and computer systems.
+ Utilize measurement equipment like rulers, laser micrometers, and multimeters.
Essential Skills
+ 3+ years of experience in microscope assembly.
+ Proficiency in using microscopes, blueprints, and measurement equipment.
+ Experience in building catheters, leads, and guidewires.
+ Familiarity with laser welding and working with R&D departments.
+ Strong troubleshooting abilities and multitasking skills.

+ Comfortable with cross-training and learning diverse processes.
+ Initiative-taking and proactive in process improvement.
+ Technically savvy with technology and computer systems.

Work Environment
The position is located in a modern facility built within the last five years. The workspace is well-lit, open, and temperature-controlled, ensuring a comfortable environment. You will work alongside a team of around 10-15 people, including management, leads, assemblers, engineers, and technicians. The site focuses on R&D, preparing processes for manufacturing, and includes areas with machines, though it is not excessively loud, and no hearing protection is required.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $22.25 - $22.25/hr.
