Medical Assembler

Job Description:

This position involves producing high-quality medical devices within a manufacturing cell. Under close supervision, you will perform assembly, repair, and test operations on pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs), leads, and related medical device assemblies. You will follow specified procedures and ensure job documentation is accurate and up-to-date. Effective communication with all levels of manufacturing management and maintaining a positive attitude when interacting with internal and external customers are essential. You will follow safety guidelines and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production processes.

Responsibilities:

Perform assembly, repair, and test operations on pacemakers, ICDs, leads, and related medical device assemblies.Follow specified and standardized procedures for routine assignments.Ensure job documentation for cell operations is accurate and up-to-date.Communicate ideas, problems, and solutions to manufacturing management in both written and oral form.Maintain a positive attitude when interacting with internal and external customers.Follow safety guidelines and utilize appropriate safety devices during operations.Participate in continuous improvement and quality initiatives to enhance production processes.Maintain accurate records to ensure traceability and address quality issues.Support divisional initiatives in alignment with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Environmental Management Systems (EMS).Read, comprehend, and follow written procedures and verbal instructions.Utilize electronic data collection systems and computer software packages.Prioritize work based on job sequencing and importance.Handle and maneuver small components and parts.Make critical decisions and judgments with minimal supervision.

Essential Skills:

High school degree or equivalent preferred.Ability to read, comprehend, and follow written procedures and verbal instructions.Ability to utilize electronic data collection systems and computer software packages.Good hand dexterity and ability to handle small components.Ability to communicate clearly in English (both written and oral).Willingness to learn and take direction.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Flexibility in tasks and punctuality.Experience in medical device assembly or packaging is a plus.Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.

Work Environment:

This position is within a cleanroom and production line environment. You will need to wear safety glasses and ESD shoes while on the production floor. The dress code requires non-shedding, clean clothing free of visible contamination. Safety guidelines and appropriate safety devices must be followed at all times. The role may require sitting or standing for prolonged periods and working with chemicals while wearing personal protective equipment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.75 - $18.75/hr.
