USGP is currently seeking a dedicated Medical Appointment Clerk to join our team in supporting military service members, their families, and veterans at Naval Medical Center San Diego and affiliated clinics. Education: High school diploma or GED equivalentCertification: Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Red Cross or American Heart AssociationExperience: Minimum of 6 months in a medical office or administrative healthcare settingTyping Speed: 50+ WPM – typing test certificate requiredImmunization Requirements (Must be current or able to obtain):
Hepatitis B (series and titer)Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis)MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)Varicella (Chickenpox)Tuberculosis (TB) testCurrent Influenza vaccineCOVID-19 vaccine (if applicable)Key Responsibilities:
Greet and assist patients and visitors in a front-desk or office environmentAnswer and direct incoming phone calls; take and relay messages as neededSchedule and coordinate medical appointments, determine patient eligibility, and provide general instructionsRetrieve, update, and organize medical records in accordance with clinic guidelinesEnsure timely arrival of medical records for scheduled appointmentsLocate and obtain requested documentation or test results for healthcare providersCreate, manage, and update appointment schedules and templates in patient scheduling systemsPerform end-of-day processes and resolve any pending or delinquent appointmentsProvide general administrative and clerical support to ensure smooth clinic operationsAbout USGP:
