This position works out of our Lake Forest, IL location in the Diagnostics division.
As the Medical Manager, you will serve as a critical bridge between strategy and execution for medical affairs activities across the US and Canada.
This role is responsible for translating strategic objectives into actionable plans, ensuring operational excellence, scientific integrity, and compliance in Medical Affairs initiatives. The Medical Manager leads project, oversees budget for assigned projects, management while driving evidence-based development of scientific tools and materials. Acting as a subject matter expert, the position provides guidance on clinical data interpretation, supports research planning, and fosters strong relationships with external stakeholders such as KOLs and healthcare professionals. Additionally, the Medical Manager delivers internal training, reviews promotional content for accuracy, and leads medical education programs including advisory boards, congresses, and symposia.
What You’ll Work On
Operational Oversight
Provide governance and coordination for medical affairs initiatives, ensuring effective planning, execution, and financial control across projects in compliance with regulatory and company standards.Stakeholder Engagement & Internal Support
Build and maintain relationships with external experts (KOLs) and healthcare professionals to support strategic objectives.Deliver scientific training for internal teams; review promotional and educational materials for medical accuracy and compliance.Evidence Review, consolidation and & Scientific Resources
Evaluate clinical and real-world evidence to develop scientific tools and resources for commercial organization, ensuring accuracy and compliance.Provide scientific expertise on data interpretation, therapeutic area trends, and research initiatives.Post-Market Studies Management
Lead planning and execution of clinical performance, and post-market studies (e.g., analytical and, usability, real-world evidence) analytical and, usability, real-world evidence) and assigned medical affairs projects, and ensuring timely, compliant delivery in alignment with strategic objectives and budgetary requirements.Serve as a key resource in guiding the planning, and execution of clinical trials and research initiatives, data collection and analysis, leveraging scientific expertise to ensure scientific and operational excellence.Collaborate on study design, negotiate budgets and contracts, and monitor adherence to protocols and milestones through completion.Coordinate CRO/vendor activities and manage study close-out, including preparation of final reports.Required Qualifications
Doctoral degree (MD, PhD, PharmD) OR Master’s/NP/RN license.Minimum 5 years’ experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or med-tech industry—experience in medical affairs, MSL, or advisory role preferred.
Direct experience in infectious disease diagnostics and application to patient care preferred but not required.

The base pay for this position is $86,700.00 – $173,300.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
