Focus of the role

As a Senior Media Specialist, this role will focus on media strategy, planning, and execution for a range of products within Consumer, Business and Enterprise segments. We are looking for a strategic integrated lead with ATL experience and strong digital skills who can translate business objectives into insights-driven media briefs and measurable outcomes/marketing campaigns.

About the role

The Senior Media Specialist is an essential contributor to Telstra’s goal of becoming a world-class marketing organization.

Collaborating closely with the internal media team, marketing, external media agency and wider Telstra internal teams, you will be responsible for the Media Strategy, Planning and execution  across a range of products and segments. Focused on translating business objectives into marketing strategies and campaigns, build and maintain strong patnerships internally and externally, strong finanical acumen and strong knowlegde of media landscape and digital platforms. Drive competitive advantage for Telstra in marketing and measuring effectivess for all channels to achieve our NPS and ROMI (Marketing Investment).

As a Senior Media Specialist, you are passionate about bringing great ideas to life and connecting with your audience. You thrive in a creative and agile team environment and enjoy working closely with creative teams to deliver forward thinking campaigns across all media channels, that engage and inspire audiences across the board. In this role, you lead the planning, execution, optimisation and reporting of Telstra’s paid media activity across all major channels. This role is central to driving brand visibility, customer acquisition and campaign performance in a fast-paced marketing environment.

As a Senior Media Specialist, you leverage extensive experience across multi-media channels and customer segments, and a passion for people to deliver against the following responsibilities:

Translate group strategy into clear and actionable strategic roadmaps, priorities and objectives, and support the team to deliver on shared goals and success measures in line with strategic prioritiesBe accountable for the design, curation and delivery of multiple large-scale and/or strategic media initiatives and projects, overseeing the coordination and execution of content and ensuring outputs are delivered to time, budget and quality standardsAnalyse campaign results, identify insights and optimise based on data-driven recommendationsContribute to annual, quarterly and campaign-based media planning across a large media portfolio including traditional and digital channelsProvide media expertise during creative development to ensure assets are channel-fit, supporting internal stakeholders with media guidance, recommendations and best practicePromote quality and consistency of Media and Creative standards, ensuring the team adopts enterprise-wide requirements and best-practice tools, processes and methodologiesModel a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement by continuing to develop your own knowledge of consumer trends and multi-media consumption preferences, and bringing the latest thinking to your role, transferring knowledge of new and emerging methodologies and approaches to your team to inform their workProvide guidance and direction when sought out by the team to assess and resolve problems, risks or issues; applying your domain knowledge, analytical thinking, and lessons learned to address them in an effective and timely mannerLeverage advanced communication and influencing skills to authentically engage and establish relationships with internal and external stakeholders, driving integration with creative teams and content partners to effectively manage media assets and content pipelineLead project planning and delivery activities, to ensure media projects are scoped and resourced properly, and help remove barriers impacting the team’s successful completion of delivery goalsProvide input into financial budgeting forecasts and contribute to growth initiativesUphold accountability for media quality, measurement and brand safetyIdentify new media opportunities, trends and technologies to ensure Telstra stays ahead of the market
